Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park is a big park in the San Joaquin Hills, Orange County, California. It’s got 4,500 acres with cool canyons, grassy areas, and woods. The park touches cities like Aliso Viejo, Dana Point, and a few Lagunas. Plus, it’s a special place for the local Acjachemen people from way back.
This park is part of the South Coast Wilderness and even though it’s surrounded by a lot of houses and the ocean, it’s a key spot for local animals. You can hike, bike, and horseback ride there. There’s also a path by Aliso Creek and cool stuff like caves and old sea fossils. The Orange County folks look after the park.

Laguna Niguel Regional Park is a cool spot in Laguna Niguel, down in southern Orange County, California. The big highlight is the Laguna Niguel Lake, which some folks also call the Sulphur Creek Reservoir, and it’s right in the park.
Every 4th of July, people come here for an awesome fireworks show. If you’re into fishing or boating, the lake is the place to be. The park also has spots to play volleyball, tennis, and horseshoes. If you’re into biking, there are trails, and for the kiddos, there are playgrounds. Got a picnic planned? They’ve got barbecue spots and shelters. Oh, and there’s a hill that’s perfect for flying kites called “Kite Hill”. Sometimes, local high schools have their cross country races here. Plus, the Laguna Niguel Lightning youth baseball kids train here. Cool, right?

A Mesmerizing View: Niguel Botanical Preserve
The Niguel Botanical Preserve is like a big outdoor showcase of plants that love Southern California’s vibe. These plants come from five parts of the world that have weather kind of like ours. The garden spreads over 18.2 acres and sits above an amphitheater in Crown Valley Community Park in Laguna Niguel.
Back in 1981, this place started as a community garden where folks grew veggies. Some local leaders had a big dream: they wanted a place where people could learn about plants and where future kids could chill and enjoy nature. By 1984, they made it official by turning it into a non-profit. Since then, a bunch of volunteers, known as Friends of the Preserve, teamed up with the city to make this place even cooler.
